Pastor Appreciation Sunday
On Sunday, October 19, we celebrated "Pastor Appreciation Sunday". The following poem was written and shared by Maggie Terry, in appreciation to Pastor Mike & Jeannie:
In
Appreciation
What phrase is appropriate? What words can I say
to express our appreciation for Pastor Mike today?
As a team, he and dear Jeannie are surely the best,
with patience and hard work, we feel truly blest.
Someone you can count on, and know that they care,
in trouble, or sorrow, or good times to share.
Of course, they are busy, as all Pastors are;
but never too busy, our burdens to bear.
Thank God for all Pastors, and God knows one and all.
When we needed a Pastor, who would answer our call?
How long has he been here? Well, time really flies!
Sometimes, for some of us, we react with surprise.
For example, those children, now in college? All three?
And we look around and say, "Now, how can that be?"
The years, in spite of losses, have been very good;
and we count our blessings daily - as everyone should.
Pastor Mike's messages, and his illustrations, too,
are helping to keep us seeking God's will to do.
May God continue to bless us, as we work together and pray
to see many more souls saved - our goal for each day! - Maggie Terry
